Happy 2018!
I spent the final night of 2017 in the company of some of my favorite people, ones who I am so lucky to call family. The year had some amazing moments and some I’m quite glad to be leaving behind. We had a bonfire in the backyard around midnight, along with champagne and confetti. We spontaneously decided to write down anything we didn’t want to bring into the new year. All the notes went into a paper bag and into the fire. As I watched them spiral away in a plume of smoke, I thought about all the things I hope to do this year – travel, practice French, find more time for creative pursuits, grow my business, spend time with family and friends. I need to let something go in order to find that time, and here was the first step. I’m not usually one for ceremonies, but this morning I’m feeling lighter and hopeful, so I’m going to take that as a good sign! Wishing you a fabulous 2018 as well.
